The unseasonably snowy weather that hit west-central Iowa is expected to gather about 4 to 6-inches of snow Thursday, May 2 during the evening.

StormTrack 8 Meteorologist Terry Swails reported north-central Iowa got about 11-inches Wednesday evening. He is forecasting some possible snow accumulation in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area.

The Iowa Department of Transportation is expecting snow accumulation to cause slick roads.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated thunderstorms are expected around the Quad City area throughout the evening on Thursday. A wintry mix is also expected to develop on a line from Manchester, Iowa to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Rainfall is possible from Friday to early Saturday morning, a potential of 1-2-inches over the 24-hour period.
