It was a glimpse into the future today for some Quad City fifth graders. The kids from Logan Elementary spent the day as working professionals, everything from store clerks to journalists to even sitting in as mayor.

Students learned that it’s not all play though, there’s a lot of work.

"A lot of students after the whole simulation tell us ‘wow I didn't know it was going to be this hard, this is a lot of work,’” says Rusch.

With hard work comes responsibility, all the students got paid and had to deposit their paychecks, learn how to manage bills and pay off loans.

"It's a cool experience and I think like we should be able to do it more,” says student Nikki Degryse.

The students at Logan even had to do real job interview before they got placed at their jobs.
