A 19-year-old from rural Albany, Illinois was hospitalized after a crash in which he was ejected from a vehicle.
Police said Tommy L.J. Engelkens, 19, was driving on Sand Road just north of Benson Road in Whiteside County just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
Engelkens “failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway as he traveled southbound on Sand Road,” according to police.
When they arrived at the crash scene, deputies found Engelkens ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition was not released.
