Quad City residents who are in need of basic amenities can now seek refuge at two shelters opening.

Non-profit organization, King’s Harvest Ministries opened the shelters on Wednesday, May 1 in Davenport, according to a spokesperson.

The shelters will be open year round for single men and single women who are in need of food, housing, pet assistance, or other emergency needs. The charity has a shelter for mothers and children which is also open year round.

To remain in the care of the shelters, programs are in place requiring people to actively work on lifestyle changes.

King’s Harvest is in need of volunteers to help with nightly check-ins, once-a-week over-nights, snacks and help with the Love Your Neighbor Program.

If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, call King’s Harvest at 563-570-4536.

The organization is also accepting donations for the shelters and programs.
