Police said a man was in critical condition and a woman under arrest after a shooting in Alpha, Illinois.

Police were called to a reported shooting at an apartment complex in the 500 block of South First Street, near Marlane Drive and Route 150 at about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Investigators from the Henry County Task Force were still at the scene late Tuesday afternoon.   The task force is activated for major felony crimes and includes detectives from Illinois State Police, the Henry County Sheriff's Department, Geneseo Police Department, Kewanee Police Department and Colona Police Department. Investigators said they were processing the scene inside the building, as well as a vehicle in the parking lot of the complex.

Police said the man who was shot was hospitalized in Peoria and was in critical condition after suffering a single gunshot wound.

Robin Atchison, 29, was arrested in connection with the case.  Atchison was held in the Henry County Jail.  Formal charges were still pending, although online court records showed she faces one count of reckless discharge of a firearm and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The name of the victim was also being withheld while the investigation continued.
