River Drive is expected to reopen to traffic on both sides of the Quad Cities by midweek.
Stretches of the road along the Mississippi River were closed on the Iowa and Illinois sides after flooding pushed water over the road nearly two weeks ago.
Moline, Illinois city officials said River Drive between 23rd and 55th streets was expected to reopen to traffic by 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
In Davenport, Iowa, eastbound River Drive reopened by Monday morning, April 29. Westbound lanes remained closed between Iowa Street and Perry Street. Westbound motorists were detoured using Fourth Street to Harrison Street and south back to River Drive.
Davenport crews began removing hescos Monday morning, and all lanes of River Drive were expected to be reopened in both directions by Wednesday morning, May 1.
