A dispute over missing marijuana ended with a crash that killed an 18-year-old Illinois girl.
KTVI reports a group of people who all knew each other got into an argument over the marijuana at a suburban St. Louis home. The people eventually got into two vehicles, a GMC Denali and a Buick Lesabre. Witnesses reported the vehicles appeared to be chasing each other and traveling, at times, in excess of 100 miles per hour.
About a half-hour after the argument began, the two vehicles went into Collinsville, Illinois and then into Fairmont City where they crashed at about 4:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013. Both vehicles rolled several times.
An 18-year-old Caseyville, Illinois girl was ejected from the Buick as it overturned. Police said she was crushed by the overturning car and that she died as a result of her injuries.
Three other people were injured in the crash; their injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
Police were searching for the Denali driver, 28-year-old Donald Joe Friese, who allegedly fled the scene of the crash.
