Witness says dog caused four-car crash in Moline

A witness said a driver swerving to avoid a dog in the road ended up in a multi-car crash on Interstate 74.

Two cars crashed after a truck swerved to avoid hitting a dog. Another crash occurred shortly after.

The accidents occurred around 3 p.m. in Moline near the 280 E. exit on I-74 Sunday, April 28, 2013.

According to someone involved in the accident, a dog ran across the road and the driver of the truck, heading southbound, swerved to avoid hitting it and caused one accident.

A second accident involving two cars happened close behind the first accident.

One person was taken to the hospital.

Moline Police Department was on the scene. They said the incident is still being investigated.
