Art competition will send a high school student to Washington

There are just days left to vote for your favorite piece of artwork in Iowa’s Congressional Art Competition.

High school students from the First Congressional District of Iowa, including Jackson and Dubuque Counties, were eligible to submit their artwork for consideration, according to the Communications Director of the First Congressional District, Iowa.

The winner of the contest will have their artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the US Capitol Building in Washington for one year. He or she will also receive two round-trip tickets to Washington, DC, to see their artwork and attend a winners’ reception.
