Fire damages Clinton hotel

Fire caused an estimated $25,000 damage to a hotel in Clinton, Iowa.

Firefighters were sent when fire alarms activated at the Super 8 Hotel at 1711 Lincolnway Boulevard early Friday, April 26, 2013.

Guests were evacuating and smoke was visible from the second floor of the building when firefighters arrived.

The fire was contained to a single room and quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
