Caring Canines are a group of dog volunteers that visit patients at Trinity with their owners every day. A special “Blessing of the Pets” service took place on Friday, April 26 in Rock Island as part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

“It’s really rewarding for us and for the staff,” said volunteer, Dianne White. “They just love him too so it’s great for the staff too.”

The blessing was given by Chaplian Bob Hansen and afterward the dogs were available for petting.

The dogs in the program go through six weeks of training before they volunteer at Trinity.
