Cancer survivors walk the runway and encourage others

A group of women joined forces to put on a show raising awareness of cancer, raising money for Quad City support groups for others going through cancer treatment.

A group of women joined forces to put on a show raising awareness of cancer.

The Trinity Walk for Cancer fashion show was held in Bettendorf on Thursday, April 25, and all the models who strutted down the runway are survivors of breast cancer.

“It’s really a celebration of the survivors,” said Marika Jones, President of the Trinity Health Foundation. “It’s an attitude of community, sisterhood, celebration, and support that is unlike any other event I have ever been at.”

About 700 people were at the event, to celebrate, encourage each other, and to share their stories.

All the money raised at the runway show goes to Quad City support groups that help cancer patients and their families as they go through treatment.
