Emergency operations are being conducted by a district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers due to widespread flooding.

The Rock Island District Emergency Operations Center is supervising efforts to deliver flood supplies and assist with on-the-ground technical assistance.

The district has sent out dozens of experts to support local and state authorities, emergency responders, and others working to help the public.

As of Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Rock Island has 33 district employees deployed providing assistance to flooded areas.

The district’s Emergency Operations Center has provided 23 pumps, almost 9,000-feet of HESCO Bastion flood-fight barriers, over 238,000 sandbags and 132 rolls of polyethylene to Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.
