Red Cross offers flood cleanup supplies

Quad Cities residents ready to clean up after water damaged their homes could get a little help from the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area.

Quad Cities residents ready to clean up after water damaged their homes could get a little help from the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area.

A spokesperson for the City of Davenport said the American Red Cross will distribute household cleaning kits to individuals who suffered water damage to their homes during recent flooding.

The Red Cross will give away cleaning supplies Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station 3, 35th and Harrison Streets in Davenport. That is not the shelter being used for people affected by the floods.

The American Red Cross is still using the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Davenport to take in people affected by the flood. It has put its Silvis shelter on standby because nobody is using it. There are about 10 people using the Davenport shelter at this time.
