Manholes were pushed out of place as water from heavy rains overwhelmed area storm sewers Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Bettendorf Police responded to manholes that popped off of River Drive at about 4:30 a.m. at River Street.  It's one factor that contributed to their decision to close River Drive.

Storm sewers in Moline were also overwhelmed by water from heavy rain, flooding streets in displacing manhole covers in front of the WIU campus there.

Crews have put up the flood wall barriers to try to keep the Mississippi River from flooding out the field at Modern Woodmen Park.

Rivers across the Quad Cites are continuing to rise. Davenport's Mississippi River was at 16.25 feet as of 7 a.m. Thursday.
