A local elementary school aide was on administrative leave after he was charged with indecent solicitation of a child.

Court records show Brian Evans, 34, of Davenport, Iowa was arrested and charged Tuesday, April 16, 2013 with grooming, child luring and two counts of indecent solicitation of a child.   All four charges are felonies.

The Dispatch-Argus reports the charges were filed after Evans allegedly tried since September 2012 to lure a 10-year-old girl.  Evans was accused of using a cell phone to message the girl on her iPod, and of inviting the girl to sit on his lap as recently as the weekend before his arrest.

Police did not say whether the girl attended the school where Evans worked as an aide in the Rock Island/Milan School District.

Evans was held in the Rock Island County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.  He was next scheduled to appear in court April 23.
