Police said they caught a Galesburg man accused of robbing a Moline gas station and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Michael Eaves, 23, allegedly robbed Gasland at 1305 15th Street just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013.

Police said the store clerk told them the suspect was armed with a handgun when he went into the store and demanded money.  The suspect then ran from the store.

Detectives found Eaves a short time later.  Police said they also “recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun and the cash believed to have been taken in the robbery.”

A spokesman for Moline Police said Eaves was charged with one felony count of armed robbery.

Eaves was held in the Rock Island County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bond.
