Photos: High water forces evacuations and sandbagging

Volunteers helped with sandbagging and evacuations as high water from torrential rain and rising waterways inundated some low-lying locations.

Crews began sandbagging around Union Station in Davenport, Iowa by Thursday afternoon.

Morrison, Illinois Public Works officials declared a flood emergency Thursday morning, April 18, 2013.  Crews were sandbagging in several areas in an effort to keep rising flood water at bay.  Volunteers gathered at the Morrison Street Garage to help with sandbagging.

Rising water also forced residents of the Maple City Mobile Home Park to evacuate their homes in Geneseo, Illinois.
