Residents seeing power restored from Wednesday’s storm

Thousands of area utility customers lost power as heavy rain, vivid lightning and localized hail pushed through the Quad Cities and surrounding areas.

MidAmerican Energy reported as of 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 that less than 100 customers were without power.

A little before 2 p.m., the company had 2,600 customers without power. About 1,300 of the outages were in the Iowa Quad Cities. Over 1,000 outages were concentrated in Moline and Mercer County Illinois.

Less than 500 outages were reported at 10:00 p.m. by Ameren Illinois.

Before 2 p.m., the company said there were more than 3,500 outages- about 400 in St. Clair County and over 3,000 in Clinton County.
