The rain has stopped for now, but the flood warnings are still in effect.
The National Weather Service says area rivers are experiencing flooding and more rain is expected. Around Tuesday, April 23, another round of rains is forecast. Incoming rain may contribute to more river flooding. Non-severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday.
A flood warning has been issued for the Mississippi River at Gladstone until further notice.
At 10 a.m. Sunday the river was more than 7-feet over the flood stage. Major flooding is expected to continue through today.
At 17-feet water reaches the tops of the levees at the Henderson Drainage District.
The Mississippi River at Burlington is under a flood warning until further notice.
At 10 a.m. Sunday the level was more than 6-feet over flood stage. Major flooding is occurring and expected to continue through Sunday as it reaches 22-feet.
At 22-feet water reaches the first floor of the interior of Port of Burlington. Water also gets on Front Street.
At Keithsburg, a flood warning for the Mississippi River is in effect until further notice.
River levels were measured Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and were just over 6-feet higher than the 14-foot flood stage. Major flooding is expected to continue through the day.
At 20-feet, water affects Keithsburg’s Boat Club building. Water also reaches the top of the Henderson Drainage District’s Agricultural levee.
A flood warning for the Mississippi River at Rock Island continues until further notice.
At 2 p.m. Sunday the river had surpassed the flood stage by over 4-feet. Major flooding is occurring and is expected to continue. The water is expected to rise to 19.2-feet by Sunday night and then begin falling.
At 19-feet, water affects Rock Island’s Sunset Marina parking lot and River Drive in Moline from the 2700 – 4800 blocks. Davenport’s Le Claire Park is entirely underwater. Water affects most of River Drive from Division to Federal. Also, water is at the base of the loading docks of the 2nd Street Post Office.
A flood warning continues for the Mississippi River at Illinois City until further notice.
The water was at 20.1-feet and steady at 2 p.m. Sunday. Major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue through Sunday evening. Monday morning the river is expected to fall to 20-feet.
At 20-feet water affects Buffalos Front Street at Franklin and on Iowa Highway 22 West of town. Water also affects Illinois Highway 92, west of Andalusia.
Until Thursday a flood warning for the Mississippi River at Le Claire is in effect.
At 2 p.m. Sunday the stage was 12.3-feet, surpassing the flood stage by over 1-foot. Moderate flooding is occurring and is expected to continue, finally falling below flood stage Thursday evening.
Water affects the lowest residences at the upstream end of town in Hampton at 12-feet.
The Mississippi River at Camanche is under a flood warning until Thursday. The water was over 1-foot above flood stage at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday and falling. The river is expected to continue to fall until it dips below flood stage on Thursday.
At flood stage, 17-feet, water affects low-lying residences at Albany.
A flood warning continues for the Mississippi River at Muscatine until further notice.
The water was at 21.1-feet and rising at 2:15 p.m. Sunday; waters had risen about 2-feet from Friday to Saturday. Major flooding is expected to continue until it reaches 21.7-feet Sunday evening, then begin falling.
At 22-feet water affects the lowest downtown businesses, Mississippi Drive at Sycamore Street, and 5th Street at Mad Creek.
The Rock River at Moline has reached record stage and continues to be under a flood warning until further notice.
At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the water was still past the flood stage by over 4-feet causing record flooding. Floods will continue through Monday afternoon and then begin falling.
At 16-feet water affects the intersection of Highways 150 and 6. The Steel Dam is under water in Milan.
A flood warning for the Rock River near Joslin continues until further notice.
At 2:30 p.m. Sunday the river had surpassed the flood stage by over 7-feet and steady. The water is expected to remain around19.1-feet through Sunday night and then fall about 3-feet to Thursday.
At 19-feet, water affects Barstow Road between Barstow and Illinois Highway 5.
