To maintain water quality and the fire protection system, the City of Rock Island will be doing their yearly fire hydrant maintenance.

According to the Public Works Department, the Spring Fire Hydrant Flushing Program begins Monday, April 15 at 7 a.m. Crews will be flushing hydrants for about four weeks.

During this time residents may experience low pressure or notice their water is discolored. Both matters are normal during flushing operations.
