A Marshalltown man faces criminal charges after he allegedly used a samurai sword to attack a pickup truck.
William Thompson, 36, reportedly argued with his ex-fiancee after seeing another man at her home Saturday, April 6, 2013. When the woman got into a truck to escape Thompson, he allegedly used a samurai sword to slash at the truck.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at more than $200.
Thompson was arrested and faced charges including misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief and felony going armed with intent.
Thompson was released from the Marshall County Jail April 8 after posting $5,000 cash bond. He was next set to appear in court April 18.
