In light of the recent events to take place with the Green Lotus Hot Yoga Studio in Davenport, instructors have decided to start a free yoga class for the community.

Shannon Volfson, former instructor and office manager and a couple other instructors will be starting "Yoga in the Park" - a free community class for anyone interested.

Since the incident occured at Green Lotus, many clients have turned to the studio's facebook page for answers.  Some clients claiming to still be getting charged even though the studio is currently not open.

Shannon quit working at the studio just days before the incident.  She says seeing the messages on the Facebook page by former clients and friends of hers is not easy.

“As someone who worked there and loved the space as much as everyone else, we are hoping that people can understand that no one is at the liberty to discuss anything,” Shannon says.  “So we are trying to do something to compensate for that until things come to light.”

The free yoga classes will be called “Yoga in The Park”.  Shannon, other Green Lotus instructors and teachers from Tapas Yoga Shala in Rock Island will be teaching the class on Saturday April 13th from 10-11:30 at Lindsay Park in the Village of East Davenport.  A class will also be taught on Sunday from 4-5:30, at Vanderveer Park in Davenport.

More information can be found on the facebook page.
