One-third of the votes cast favored one choice for naming the eaglets in the nest at Alcoa in Davenport.
Their new names are Honor and Glory.
The first eaglet hatched Saturday, March 16, 2013. Two days later, the second eaglet was in the nest.
Before they hatched, Alcoa received more than 4,000 name suggestions for the eaglets. Those suggestions helped create a list of names for which the public could cast online votes.
Alcoa officials said 124,690 votes were cast over ten days, and one-third of the votes cast favored naming the eaglets Honor and Glory. Voting ended April 5.
Other names considered were Pride and Joy, Lindy and Amelia, Al and Coa, Peace and Harmony, Charles and Julia, Wilbur and Orville and Stars and Stripes.
