To get a glimpse at some rarities and new items, people went to a unique show.

The Quad Cities Model Railroad and Memorabilia Show made its way to Davenport Central Saturday, April 6.

Some of the more rare models ranged from one dollar to thousands of dollars. Newer items displayed an ability to control trains through a free iPhone app.

“They say it’s the romance of the rails,” said organizer, Glen Thede. If you’ve ever ridden on a train or gone on a trip on a train it’s awesome and I think that just sticks with people.”

Local radio DJ, Bill Michaels was there with his award winning display.

“There’s about a year and a half worth of work. People ask how many hours, it’s I think a thousand hours or so.”
