Windy weather creates high fire danger through Saturday evening.

Windy weather creates high fire danger through Saturday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, mild temperatures combined with dry air and high winds make for a high fire threat.

Winds are expected to continue through the early evening gusting over 35 mph. After 6 p.m. winds will slow down as showers begin to cover the Quad City area.

The NWS urges residents to not burn outdoors Saturday evening. Any outdoor fires should be closely attended and not left alone.

Any loose items that could blow away should be secured and high profile vehicles should take precautions.
