Hot dog stand opens up for the season

The hot dog stand is back up in Moline, a sure sign that spring is in the air.

Birds chirping, sun shining and the smell of hot dogs in the air- all signs of spring in the Quad Cities.

At Ben Butterworth Park in Moline on Friday, April 5, John Rogers set up his annual hot dog stand.

“Just something American about it I guess you’d say,” said Rogers. “A hot dog down on the old Mississippi River. I don’t think there’s anything better than that. It’s kind of a comfort food. Everybody seems to like hot dogs.”

Rogers has worked as a restaurant manager before and says it’s nothing like being outside and enjoying the sunshine with all his customers.

The hot dog stand is near the Captain’s Table on River Drive every weekday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
