Powers had oversight of the bank account for the university’s Student Government Association, from which she made unauthorized withdrawals and debit card transactions for personal use.

Powers pleaded guilty Thursday, April 4, 2013 to first-degree theft.  In exchange for her plea, the tampering with records charge will be dismissed.
