The city of Davenport will hold a Community Development Grant meeting Friday.
The city says it has lost 30% of its federal funding to build more low-income housing over the past three years. The city will ask for more of that funding Friday.
The city helped rehab the Taylor Renaissance Building in 2012. That was a $7 million project where builders used block grants to rebuild it.
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) says that the Davenport block grants have resulted in $10 million of investment over the past three years. It also says that has kept 190 jobs in Davenport.
HUD also says the grants have led to $50 million of private investment in Davenport. 140 contractors have used the grant since 2009.
Friday's event starts at 4 p.m. at the Taylor Renaissance Building. Congressman Dave Loebsack will be on hand to talk about the program.
