Second arrest made in Rock Falls stabbing

Police have arrested one man for his involvement in a fight that led to a stabbing and are searching for another man who is reportedly involved.

Update: The man police were searching for has been arrested.

According to Sterling Police, Angel J. Rosas was arrested on Thursday, April 4, 2013 around 3:15 p.m.

Rosas has been charged with aggravated battery in a public place and is now being held in the Whiteside County Jail, reported police.

Police have arrested one man for his involvement in a fight that led to a stabbing and are searching for another man who is reportedly involved.

According to the Sterling Police Department, on March 19, 2013, a fight broke out in the area of W. 15th Street and Lindy Ave. in Rock Falls, Illinois, which resulted in a man being stabbed as well as a vehicle’s tire being punctured.

The stabbed victim was treated for his injuries and has been released from the hospital.

Police said they are searching for Angel J. Rosas, 28, for his involvement in the fight.

The Sterling Police said, Mark A. Chavez, 29, of Sterling was arrested on Wednesday, April 3. He has been charged with aggravated battery in a public place, mob action, and criminal damage to property.

Chavez was processed and transported to the Whiteside County Jail on the felony charges.
