The days are getting longer and the sun is getting stronger. Spending time outdoors is a real treat after being cooped up indoors for the past few months. Sunlight can be healthy in small doses. Unfortunately, the sunshine can be such an enjoyment to people that it can become addicting. If a person is not getting the natural sunlight, tanning beds may be the next step.

I’m no doctor but I think it’s common sense that too much sun can be harmful for your health. Exposure to UV radiation increases your risk for developing Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, eye damage and premature aging. When you do want to spend time outdoors make sure to use sunscreen with the highest spf (sun protection factor) available. It’s a good idea to make sunscreen a part of your daily health and beauty regimen.

If you still enjoy a little color, sunless tanning is the way to go. Without mentioning anyone specifically and endorsing certain products over others, I can tell you that the Quad Cities has great airbrush tanning businesses that will give a quality tan for a fair price. Over the counter products are tricky. You can risk being streaky or looking orange. However, I have found products only available online that provide a natural looking tan without looking like I’ve joined the cast of Jersey Shore, I promise!
