One last egg hunt before the end of Easter

Children of all ages got to join in an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday in Rock Island.

Children of all ages got to join in an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday in Rock Island.

The Botanical Center held two egg hunts, one for big kids and one for little kids.

Eggs contained candy, toys, and seeds that children could plant in a take-home container. Hiding places for the eggs were among the plants in the outdoor garden, creating an outdoorsy photo opportunity for parents and children.

Afterward, families explored the center, did crafts and played with sidewalk chalk.

“I think having it on the actual holiday is kind of fun,” said Education Coordinator, Ellen Loechner. “A lot of Easter egg hunts are like a week before actual Easter, so this gives everyone an extra chance before they settle down for Easter dinner.”
