To enforce environmental laws set in place, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has issued orders to several cities and businesses.

According to the Iowa DNR Enforcement Actions website, the cities of Coralville and Reasnor have been ordered to comply with construction schedules for wastewater facility upgrades and improvements and must pay penalty fees.

The city of Dixon in Scott County has been ordered to comply with state standards for the public water supply and must pay a penalty fee for failure to correct nitrate MCL violations.

Businesses, residences, and others in over thirty Iowa counties have received orders.

When an administrative order is issued, the violator has 30 days to appeal or 60 days to pay the penalty, according to the DNR.
