Materials found inside Iowa home lead to arrest

Marijuana, money, packaging material, and a digital scale were found inside a Burlington, Iowa home- leading to the arrest of a 35 year old man.

The search inside a Burlington, Iowa home led to the arrest of a 35 year old man.

According to the Burlington Police Department, the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a home on North 9th Street on Thursday, March 28. The force found 3.3 pounds of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of money, packaging material, and a digital scale; all items were seized.

Police say, Robert “Shorty” McPherson was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver and Violation of the Drug Tax Stamp Law, both class D felonies.

The warrant was from an ongoing investigation into the distribution of marijuana into the Des Moines County area, according to authorities.

McPherson is being held in the Des Moines County Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond.

Involved in the investigation was the Burlington Police Department, West Burlington Police Department, and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.
