Sixth grade students from Waverly, Iowa toured the State Capitol Building, with special tour guide, Governor Terry Branstad.
The governor invited the students from St. Paul’s Lutheran School when sequester cuts caused the White House to cancel their scheduled tour in Washington D.C.
The students had previously held a Facebook campaign in an attempt to get the White House to change its mind. The attempt was unsuccessful.
The sixth graders got their tour of Terrace Hill and got to see the governor’s office on Thursday, March 28.
