Someone apparently put a brick on the gas pedal of a stolen car before the vehicle smashed through the wall of a grocery store in Kalona, Iowa.

A deputy on patrol found the car crashed into JW’s Foods at 122 E Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.  Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

KCRG reports police said a brick was placed on the gas pedal of the vehicle.   The car was apparently aimed at the front doors of the store, but veered off course and crashed through a wall instead.

Police said the car was stolen from a nearby repair shop.

Curt Wyse of JW’s Foods said the car missed the bathrooms and water lines that would have made the crash “an even bigger mess.”

No injuries were reported.   The store remained open for business Tuesday.
