AT&T has been running the “It can wait” campaign to dissuade people from texting and driving.
The campaign made a stop in Des Moines on Wednesday to let people see the dangers of distracted driving, in a safe environment. The company uses a simulator to demonstrate its point.
State House Representative, Phyllis Thede tested the simulator out.
“You’re driving, then you’re not quite sure where you’re at,” said Thede. “It’s not a road you’re familiar with. Then there are blocks, the cars, the people, stop lights, you aren’t familiar with those things. Then you have something in your hand.”
The AT&T texting and driving simulator will make its way to Sioux City and Cedar Rapids during the week.
