Have you ever had a secret you were dying to tell the world? Now there is a place you can do that.
Confession Pages on Facebook have been designed to be a place for college students to anonymously post whatever is on their mind.
Posts range from confessing love for a college professor to an embarrassing story about a fun night out.
Some of the pages have turned into more than that.
The page designed for University of Iowa students has quickly been flooded with vulgar and sexually explicit content.
Augustana student Austin Goutze says he finds the pages interesting but says there is a fine line that shouldn't be crossed.
"There are definitely boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed, especially people’s names and if they are being mean or rude," Goutze says. "I think people think they can get away with everything and I don't necessary think that's the right thing."
Keri Rursch, Augustana's Director of Public Relations, says the college is aware of the Facebook page. Rursch says she has seen more than a dozen of these pages made and she finds them shocking.
“We are not used to people sharing their secrets with us like this and we are especially not used to strangers sharing their secrets with us like this,” Rursch says.
Officials from Augustana College say that legal action could be taken if something of a criminal nature were brought to their attention.
