Someone bought a ticket in Iowa that won $2 million in the March 23 Powerball drawing.
The multi-million-dollar ticket was a Power Play ticket that matched five numbers but not the Powerball. The ticket was reportedly sold at a Kum & Go store in Oskaloosa. The Powerball website says that ticket was the only Power Play ticket in the country that matched the five numbers.
Thirteen other non-Power Play tickets were sold that also matched five numbers but not the Power Ball, winning $1 million each. One of those tickets was sold at Big 10 Mart in East Dubuque, Illinois. Illinois Lottery officials say odds of winning the $1 million prize are one in 5,153,633.
Winning numbers for Saturday’s Powerball drawing were 17, 29, 31, 52 and 53. The Powerball number was 31. One winning ticket worth more than $338 million was sold at a store in New Jersey.
The Powerball jackpot is now reset to $40 million.
