Local elementary students teamed up to lend a hand to wounded warriors.
Students at Lincoln Irving School in Moline, Illinois began painting quilt squares which a local quilter will assemble.
The quilt will then be donated to a wounded warrior program. The project also teaches the kids their youth shouldn’t stop them from helping someone else.
“You know, children grow up sometimes self-centered as we do, and we want them to understand there are people they can help even being a child; that they can help minister to someone else in need,” said teacher Denise Cross.
The quilts should be completed by the end of this summer.
