Police say they captured a man wanted for allegedly stealing a 42-inch TV from the Sterling Wal-Mart.

Surveillance cameras captured images of a man allegedly walking out of the Wal-Mart, at 4115 East Lincoln Way, with a television for which he did not pay.  Police said they received several tips about the man’s identity.

The same man was wanted for allegedly stealing steaks from the Kroger’s grocery store at 2301 Locust Street in Sterling on February 3, 2013.

Police said they pulled over a vehicle for defective exhaust and failure to signal.  They arrested a passenger in the vehicle, 36-year-old Johnathan Woods, of Sterling.  Police said they charged Woods with burglary and retail theft.

Woods was held in the Whiteside County Jail.
