Illinois and Iowa State will play in the NCAA Tournament

The Illinois Fighting Illini and the Iowa State Cyclones have earned their places in the NCAA tournament.

Illinois was knocked out of the Big 10 tournament after a loss to the Indiana Hoosiers. Now with a No. 7 seed in the South region, they will play Colorado, No. 10 seed in the East region, on Friday in Austin, Texas.

Iowa State played Kansas for a spot in the Big 12 championship, but fell short. Sunday the Cyclones were given a No. 10 seed and will play No. 7 seed Notre Dame. The two West region teams will meet on Thursday in Dayton, Ohio.

Iowa will not be playing in the NCAA tournament this year, but the men have accepted an the opportunity to play Indiana State in the 2013 NIT on Sunday night.
