Police say babysitter abused four-year-old

Moline Police said a reward was available for information leading to the capture of a man accused of repeatedly hitting a four-year-old boy in the belly.

Moline Police said a reward was available for information leading to the capture of a man accused of repeatedly hitting a four-year-old boy in the belly.

Lateef Maurice Jackson, 29, faces one count of aggravated battery of a child.

Police said they think a four-year-old boy “was restrained while being struck repeatedly in the abdomen by the suspect who was watching the child while the mother was at work.”

The boy had bruises on his abdomen when he was taken to a local hospital Wednesday, March 13.  He was later airlifted to a hospital in Peoria.

Police said Lateef Jackson is on the run.  He is six-feet, four-inches tall and weighs 205 pounds.  He has brown eyes.
