Emergency repair on a water main and sewer line forced the closure of Genesee Avenue near the Whiteside County Fairgrounds.
Morrison Police planned to help with traffic control near Morrison High School and Southside Elementary School.
Genesee Avenue will remain closed between Academic Drive and Winfield Street until further notice.
