Rock River Floods Moline Homes

The Rock River has started flooding some of the homes on North Shore Drive in South Moline.

The flooding there started Tuesday evening and continued into the night. The neighborhood often floods when the Rock River gets high.

Neighbors were seen surveying the waters Tuesday evening. As previously reported, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Rock River in Moline until Saturday morning.

The flood stage for the Rock River in Moline is just 12 feet, and at 4:30 Wednesday morning, the Rock River in Moline was at 12.8 feet. The NWS says the river will crest at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The water could also start affecting the homes on South Shore Drive when the river gets higher than 13 feet. Neighbors there are also used to flooding on the Rock River.
