Meaker transferred to prison

An Illinois woman convicted of obstructing justice in connection with a bogus Amber Alert is now in state custody.

Kendra Meaker, 19, pleaded guilty in January 2013 to obstructing justice and endangering a child.

Meaker had reported her infant daughter was kidnapped from a car parked at the Toulon, Illinois Post Office in September 2012.  Twelve hours later, baby Mia Graci Thompson was found alone and alove along a gravel road in rural Stark County.

Meaker was sentenced March 8, 2013 to three years in prison.   She had been held in the Stark County, Illinois Jail and was transferred Tuesday, March 12, 2013 to the Dwight Correctional Center in Dwight, Illinois.
