A sink hole beneath the pavement has forced Galesburg, Illinois officials to close a street on the city’s east side.

The sink hole was discovered Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013.

City officials closed Indiana Avenue between South Street and East Berrien Street until further notice.

The location is residential.

Galesburg Public Information Officer Sue Davidson said local traffic will have access to the area but through traffic will not be allowed.
