For the first time in ten years, a Trinity Lutheran School student qualified for the Iowa National Geographic Bee.

Nora Rudzinski, a sixth-grader, will compete in the Iowa bee on the DMACC campus in Ankeny on April 5, 2013.

Nora qualified by finishing with one of the top 100 scores in the state on the qualifying test given to fourth- through eighth-graders in Iowa.

The state-level bee is an oral competition.  State winners are invited to compete in the national bee in May at National Geographic Headquarters in Washington, D.C.  Awards there are scholarships for $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000.

Noral Rudzinski is the daughter of Kevin and Leslie Rudzinski.
