Free Admission for Niabi Zoo Opening Day

It may not feel like spring yet, but signs are pointing in that direction, even at the zoo.

The Niabi zoo is opening Monday, March 11 for its 50th Anniversary season. To celebrate, the zoo is offering free admission, according to the Niabi Zoo website.

According to the zoo director, Marc Heinzman, Niabi will be featuring a bigger elephant enclosure. The zoo will also be starting construction on a new lion habitat later this year.

While the zoo was closed for the winter, two baby animals were born; a monkey and a zebu, a type of cattle. Don’t miss your first chance to see what’s new at the zoo.

Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
