Beyond the Green Screen: Time to Spring Forward!

Cassie Heiter Weather Blog

If I had a list of my top ten favorite things you would find sleeping on that list. You can imagine my sadness of losing an hour of sleep tomorrow morning. Yes, it’s already time to spring forward! Central Daylight Time begins at 2am Sunday. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to sleep. Thankfully I have all day Sunday to relax and catch up on sleep since I get the day off to prepare for the morning show Monday.

Lack of sleep is really the only thing I have to complain about as we jump into spring. While astronomical spring doesn’t start until March 20th, meteorological spring has already sprung. The melting of snow, the calming rains, the sound of birds and the return of those Reese’s peanut butter eggs all have me excited for warmer temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms.

Speaking of thunderstorms, setting your clocks ahead one hour is a great time to go ahead and check your batteries in smoke detectors and weather radios!
